Blooming Meadows Farm was born from a calling, shaped by a love of beauty and nature, tested by fire, and transformed into something greater than we first imagined.
What began as a dream to grow flowers has become a place where faith, nature, creativity, hospitality, and community come together.

The Musgrave Family
I'm Colleen Musgrave—an interior designer, farmer's wife, Navy veteran, and founder of Blooming Meadows Farm.
I grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. My husband, Matt, grew up in Fort Morgan, Colorado.
Two people from very different places were brought together by the Navy on a tiny island called Diego Garcia, south of India.
We served together, built a life together, and after ten years of military service, eventually put down roots in Pennsylvania.
We found an 1800s farmhouse on five acres and began dreaming about what our next chapter could look like.
Matt longed to get back to farming.
I longed to create something beautiful.
For a while, those dreams didn't seem to have much in common.
Then, during a family trip to Colorado, we stayed at a bed and breakfast that was also a flower farm.
Suddenly, everything clicked.
Flowers could bring our two dreams together.
And an idea began to grow.
A Place Where Healing Blooms.
Blooming Meadows Farm was born from a calling, shaped by love for beauty and nature, tested by fire, and rebuilt stronger than ever.
An Idea Takes Root
Blooming Meadows began as a U-Pick flower farm.
We planted fields, welcomed people to pick bouquets, taught creative classes, and watched guests slow down the moment they stepped onto the property.
Something about being surrounded by flowers and open countryside seemed to change people.
They stayed awhile.
They talked.
They created.
They breathed a little deeper.
And slowly, we began to realize that Blooming Meadows was becoming something more than the flower farm we originally imagined.
The flowers weren't the whole story.
They were the beginning of it.
A Calling Deeper Than Flowers
As Blooming Meadows grew, so did the vision.
I felt God calling me to create a place where people could heal.
At first, I didn't completely understand what that meant.
Over time, the pieces began coming together.
Scripture.
Nature.
Creativity.
Hospitality.
Reflection.
Community.
These weren't separate parts of Blooming Meadows. Together, they were becoming the heart of it.
Today, we believe God created this place for people to step away from the noise of everyday life, spend time in His creation, make something with their hands, gather with others, and leave carrying something meaningful with them.
Beauty still matters here.
Flowers still matter.
Creativity still matters.
But now we understand why.
They can become ways of slowing down long enough to notice what God may already be doing.
Beauty From Ashes
On June 25, 2025, our barn burned.
In a matter of hours, a building that held so much of what we had created was gone.
But the story of that night—and everything that happened before and afterward—changed the way we understood Blooming Meadows.
In the middle of tremendous loss, we experienced moments of protection, provision, peace, community, and faith that we will never forget.
The fire didn't end the calling.
It clarified it.
Today, that story lives on through our Prayer Garden—a ten-station journey through what happened and an invitation to consider the ways God may be working in your own story.
We could tell you everything here.
But some stories are better experienced one step at a time.
What Blooming Meadows Has Become
Blooming Meadows is still a flower farm.
But it is no longer just a flower farm.
It's a Christian retreat and creative destination where people can encounter God, enjoy His creation, gather with people they love, and experience the beauty of making something with their own hands.

Our signature Christian retreat experiences bring together Scripture, nature, creativity, reflection, and community. Each retreat centers around a meaningful theme and includes a creative keepsake designed to reinforce the experience long after the day is over.

A Mission Bigger Than Our Farm
For a long time, we thought people had to come here to experience Blooming Meadows.
We don't believe that anymore.
After the fire, our community surrounded us with generosity, prayer, encouragement, and practical help.
Through that experience, we felt God showing us something bigger:
Healing wasn't meant to stop at the edge of our property.
That's why Blooming Grace was created to travel.

I never could have planned the path that brought Blooming Meadows here.
From the Navy to an old Pennsylvania farmhouse.
From a field of flowers to a place filled with people.
From a devastating fire to a clearer understanding of our purpose.
There have been beautiful seasons and incredibly difficult ones.
Through all of them, God has continued to shape this place—and us along with it.
Blooming Meadows is still growing.
And so are we.
