Beauty From Ashes

Ten moments that made no sense at the time. Ten moments that make sense now. This is the story behind the farm.

Come Walk the Prayer Garden

The Prayer Garden is a place to slow down, reflect, pray, and walk through the story behind Blooming Meadows.

While you're visiting the farm, you're welcome to walk the stations, read the story, add your own story to the wall, pick a flower, and spend a little time with God.

The Prayer Garden is always free and available to all guests visiting Blooming Meadows.

Leave lighter than you came.

"Come and hear, all you who fear God; let me tell you
what He has done for me."

The Knock at 3:30 AM

A stranger knocked at 3:30 in the morning, said call 911, stayed until we were safe, and then disappeared. No one knows who he was.

The fire chief broke protocol and called every nearby station — one minute later and the house would have been lost too.

"The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore."

— Psalm 121:8

"Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it."

— Hebrews 13:2

A Warning We Didn't Understand

A visitor felt God warn her that the barn would burn — almost exactly one year before it did. We did not understand at the time. We do now.

"For nothing will be impossible with God."

— Luke 1:37

The only damage the house took was to the siding Colleen had been praying about for months. Behind that siding were hidden problems finally revealed.

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him."

— Romans 8:28

Protected by an Invisible Hand

There was no wind that night. The porch, the workshop, and a brand new shed all stood untouched — even though they were closer to the fire than the house itself.

"He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge."

— Psalm 91:4

Prepared Before We Knew Why

A new shed had arrived one week before the fire. Products had been moved outside days before. Nothing inside it melted. Nothing burned.

The Only Thing Damaged Was What Needed Repaired

"Before they call I will answer; while they are yet speaking I will hear."

— Isaiah 65:24

Peace in the Middle of Loss

A new shed had arrived one week before the fire. Products had been moved outside days before. Nothing inside it melted. Nothing burned.

"And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."

— Philippians 4:7

Help Arrived Right on Time

A neighbor appeared with a backhoe at the exact moment Matt sat down discouraged after a day of failed attempts to rent one. We had not asked. He just came.

"And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus."

— Philippians 4:19

Carried by Community

Over forty people showed up the next day without being asked. Cleanup that would have taken weeks was finished in a matter of hours.

"Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ."

— Galatians 6:2

Beauty from Ashes

A new venue is rising where the old barn burned. What began as heartbreak became something greater than we ever could have imagined.

"To bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair."

— Isaiah 61:3

"After the fire, we felt God say that healing is not just for
our community. It is for everyone. That is why we bring
Blooming Meadows Farm to you — wherever you are."
